Internship Status: Part-Time | Unpaid

Local Office/Remote

Summary: The Care Coordination Intern will work alongside Care Coordinators to support the response and coordination of services for youth identified as victims of human trafficking. The intern will assist in program implementation, administrative tasks, data entry, and professional communication with partner agencies. This role provides hands‑on education and experience in interagency collaboration, trauma‑informed practices, and systems‑level coordination.

Availability: Determined in alignment with the intern’s academic requirements, school‑related goals, and Unbound Now's work hours and needs.

Working Conditions: Work will be conducted in a professional office setting or remotely with field visits to meetings, partner agencies, and community training sites.

Travel: This position requires local travel for meetings and coordinated trainings.

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse community partners (law enforcement, DFPS, advocacy, CACs, medical, etc.).
  • Participate in ongoing training, including pre‑service orientation and Care Coordination protocols.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle or other ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Abide by all Unbound Now Policies and procedures, including Unbound Now’s Abuse Prevention and Response Policy.
Objectives & Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Care Coordinator or Program Director, the intern will:

  • Assist Care Coordinators in responding to referrals from law enforcement, DFPS, CACs, juvenile justice, and advocacy partners.
  • Observe and help with Rapid Response Meetings (both crisis and non‑crisis), taking notes, documenting key points, and preparing case files.
  • Support with Service Status Meetings (SSMs) by helping draft notes, tracking follow‑ups, and monitoring next steps.
  • Research and update community resources relevant to survivor care (housing, medical, legal, counseling, etc.).
  • Support the expansion of a Missing Youth Initiative across the Care Coordination program.
  • Assist in gathering data on missing/re‑recovered youth cases and identifying trends.
  • Help prepare Missing Status Meeting (SSM‑M) materials and notes, ensuring timely follow‑up on recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with Care Coordinators to document best practices and create resource materials for expanding the initiative.
  • Participate in research and program development efforts aimed at strengthening proactive responses to missing youth.
  • Assist with data entry and documentation in Salesforce, county trackers, and case files.
  • Help prepare agendas, meeting notes, and follow‑up communications for Care Coordination Team (CCT) and Advisory Council meetings.
  • Support the maintenance of consents, confidentiality agreements, and records.
  • Assist in preparing materials for Advisory Council meetings and community trainings.
  • Help with partner outreach and communication to strengthen inter‑agency collaboration.
  • Participate in program projects, research, and awareness initiatives.
  • Observe the coordination process in both crisis and non‑crisis responses to gain hands‑on experience.
