Power Electronics Firmware Engineer

Location: Austin, TX | Full-Time On Site

Texas' most rapidly growing energy technology company is seeking a Power Electronics Firmware Engineer to help build the core firmware powering its fleet of intelligent, distributed energy systems. This role is ideal for a low-level developer passionate about reliability, performance, and clean architecture.

• Design, develop, and deploy embedded firmware in C/C++
• Own system design from processor selection to validation and release
• Ensure high-quality, reliable code through code reviews and testing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and systems teams
• Contribute to a robust CI/CD pipeline and test-driven development process

• 5+ years of embedded software development (bare-metal or RTOS)
• Strong background in low-level programming and system architecture
• Experience building embedded systems from the ground up
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and deterministic code
• Familiarity with test automation and CI/CD best practices

• Experience with safety-critical certifications (e.g., UL1998, UL1741, UL1547)
• Background in power systems or real-time embedded development
• Knowledge of multiple processor architectures and trade-offs
