Role Overview & Key Interactions
At Quik!, we’re redefining forms automation. As our Senior Backend Engineer – API Engineering Lead, you will take charge of designing and building backend systems that drive our platform’s reliability, performance, and scalability. You will partner directly with Product Owners, Dev Ops, and engineering peers to turn business requirements into API-powered solutions that support intuitive, intelligent, and secure user experiences.
You will also play a key role in mentoring developers, leading architecture discussions, and integrating AI-assisted tooling across our engineering stack.
What You’ll Do- 60% – Backend API Engineering & Development
- Design and build backend services and APIs using C# and .NET Core
- Follow Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and trunk-based development
- Integrate with SQL, No
SQL, and caching systems like Redis - Optimize performance and maintain scalable codebases
- 20% – AI-First Practices & Tooling
- Leverage tools like Git Hub Copilot and ChatGPT to increase speed and reduce bugs
- Develop utilities that enhance debugging, testing, and code documentation
- Promote responsible AI adoption across engineering workflows
- 15% – Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Contribute to long-term architecture vision and tooling decisions
- Guide adoption of modern cloud-native and distributed system patterns
- Ensure systems are resilient, observable, and secure by design
- 5% – Mentoring & Collaboration
- Mentor junior engineers in coding, design, and AI-first workflows
- Work cross-functionally with Dev Ops, QA, and product teams
- Document backend systems and lead by example
- An expert in backend engineering with C#/.NET Core and modern API development
- Skilled in SQL, No
SQL, and performance tuning for distributed systems - Comfortable leading design conversations and making architectural trade-offs
- Proficient with AI-assisted tools and motivated to increase engineering velocity
- Clear communicator who thrives in remote-first teams
- Committed to craftsmanship, documentation, and mentoring others
- Take ownership of architecture and implementation from day one - Write high-quality code that others want to read and extend
- Use AI to work faster, smarter, and more securely
- Embrace modern CI/CD with trunk-based development and feature flags

Compensation & Location- Salary: $140,000 – $160,000/year (depending on experience) + performance bonus
