The Jackalope Studio leads the development of engaging land-based slot machines and collaborates with teams across the U.S. and Canada. Operating in a hybrid model in Austin, TX, the team balances collaboration with flexibility to foster creativity and efficiency.

Bluberi is seeking a highly motivated Technical Artist for the Austin team. The Technical Artist develops and maintains efficient asset workflows, ensures seamless asset integration, crafts visual effects and animations, oversees content performance, resolves bottlenecks, and creates tools, scripts, and shaders to enhance workflows.

• Manages content pipeline
• Develops and maintains an efficient asset workflow in Unity for casino game assets (symbols, characters, textures, animations, VFX)
• Collaborates with artists, designers, and developers to ensure seamless asset and code integration
• Implements and optimizes particle systems and procedural animations for visual quality and performance
• Drives performance optimization
• Ensures game content adheres to performance budgets across target platforms
• Uses Unity and tools like the Profiler to identify and resolve bottlenecks
• Provides solutions in content management and optimization to maintain efficiency and quality
• Creates tools and game features
• Uses Unity tools, scripts, and editor extensions to streamline workflows
• Implements game features and creates custom shaders using Shader Graph or HLSL
• Collaborates with the game platform team to integrate plugins and new features
• Shares technical expertise
• Contributes to technical best practices and knowledge base on Unity UI, animations, particle systems, VFX, shaders, and materials
• Researches and implements new techniques to enhance graphics and optimize performance

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, graphic arts, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Familiarity with common game engines and development pipelines; demonstrated experience with Unity
• Ability to script languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, or C++ for content and tool development

• 1+ years of professional experience as a technical artist with Unity
• Experience with Spine, Adobe Suite, and 3D software
• Basic understanding of the casino gaming industry and competitive products
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills; collaborative in a consensus-based environment

Office:
Quiet and located in a secured office environment.

• Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, color vision, and focus adjustment; ability to lift and maneuver up to 10 pounds; prolonged sitting

• Ability to travel 5–10% with some international travel (Canada)
