Front End Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and mission-driven Front-End Engineer to build and scale a workflow portal that enables human interaction with AI agents supporting local government operations. In this role, you will be responsible for developing intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that allow government employees and administrators to collaborate with AI-powered agents in real time. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to translate complex workflows into seamless digital experiences.

• Build Human-Agent Interfaces:
  Implement user interfaces that support real-time interaction with AI agents, including conversational UI elements, status indicators, decision prompts, and workflow visualization tools.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
  Work closely with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to define user requirements and translate complex government workflows into intuitive digital experiences.
• Integrate with APIs and Back-End Systems:
  Consume APIs that connect to AI agents, databases, and external government systems, ensuring smooth data flow and interface responsiveness.
• Document Workflows and Components:
  Maintain detailed documentation for UI components, interaction flows, and developer best practices.
• Contribute to System Architecture:
  Participate in front-end architectural decisions and recommend tools, libraries, and practices that support scalability and maintainability.

• Experience designing accessible and responsive interfaces for a diverse user base.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous data handling (e.g., Axios, Fetch, Graph
  
  QL).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of front-end testing practices and tools (e.g., Jest, Testing Library, Cypress).
