We are seeking a collaborative and motivated System Firmware Test Development Engineer to join our Firmware QA team. In this role, you will work closely with firmware architects and domain validation teams to understand new firmware and system-level features, define end-to-end test strategies, and develop comprehensive regression test cases.
You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality firmware delivery through systematic, automated, and scalable validation frameworks. The primary focus will be on AMD Server-class EPYC CPUs and Instinct GPUs.

- Strong understanding of System BIOS / UEFI boot process
- System-level test strategy and regression development
- Debugging at SoC and platform level
- Automation-friendly test design
- Partner with firmware architects and domain validation engineers to understand new and evolving firmware features.
- Define and implement platform-level, end-to-end test flows to validate firmware functionality across boot and runtime.
- Develop detailed regression test cases, test procedures, and automation-ready tests aligned with CI practices.
- Ensure test designs are compatible with existing or new test frameworks.
- Execute tests, debug issues, and collaborate with firmware developers to drive defect resolution.
- Contribute to test strategy and coverage analysis, focusing on system-level feature interactions and cross-domain dependencies.
- Participate in test infrastructure improvements to enhance coverage, efficiency, and reporting.
- Work allocation:
- 80% – Test content creation
- 20% – Test execution and debugging
- 6+ years of relevant experience in firmware or software development and/or validation.
- Knowledge of pre-silicon and post-silicon firmware/system test environments.
- Strong debugging skills at System on a Chip (SoC) and system level.
- Understanding of computer architecture and enterprise-class server platforms.
- Prior experience working on embedded firmware.
- Programming experience in C, C++, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.).
Experience in one or more of the following areas is a strong plus:
- RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability) features and validation
- Power management and telemetry
- Platform security: TPM, Secure Boot, SPDM, Root of Trust (RoT) attestation
- Sideband protocols: MCTP, SPDM, PLDM, RDE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline (preferred).
