ABOUT THIS ROLE

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in leading engineering teams and collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams and managers to deliver cutting edge projects that shape the future of our industry. This is not just a people management role; it's an opportunity to lead with vision, influence, and strategic thinking in a fast‑paced environment.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to wear multiple hats from strategic planning and risk management to hands‑on design, architecture and execution of software development initiatives, working with highly talented software engineers, empowering you to make a significant impact on our delivery outcomes and company growth. Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of developers in building high‑quality, scalable, and resilient distributed systems
  • Foster an environment of rapid learning and adaptation to new technologies, tools, and frameworks
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management
  • Maintain high standards in version control using Git and ensure robust test automation practices are in place
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the integration and deployment of best‑in‑class financial services solutions
  • Drive the development and maintenance of RESTful services, microservices, and service‑oriented architectures
  • Facilitate the continuous integration and delivery pipelines for seamless deployment and scalability
  • Manage and mentor engineering teams, encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth
  • Travel occasionally to meet with engineering teams, stakeholders, and to stay aligned with industry advancements
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience) required
  • 8+ years work prior experience in software development
  • 2+ years leading engineering teams
  • Experience in financial services or a similar heavily regulated industry is preferred
  • Proven experience in Agile Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc) and project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Proficient in managing version control systems, preferably Git
  • Advanced knowledge of software testing and automation tools
  • Strong foundational understanding of software development best practices
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and lead teams in learning and implementing these technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to details
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to think strategically about technology‑driven solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
