Mobile Engineer Lead

We’re looking for a Mobile Engineer Lead who will act as a complete technical owner of the entire Beat Stars Mobile Strategy. You will define the strategy, architecture, and deployment strategies directly with the CTO and CEO to help define the technical standard for our Mobile practice while continuing to ship production‑grade software that powers the Beat Stars experience for creators and fans around the world.

You’ll be more than an individual contributor. You’ll be a technical standard‑bearer for mobile development.

This role exists to elevate our mobile engineering quality, reduce tech debt, and ensure we’re building fast, reliable, and scalable mobile experiences across the Beat Stars platform. You’ll help shape how we architect, build, review, and ship code across our mobile applications.

Within your first quarter, you’ll be writing production code, defining standards, and helping the team execute with greater clarity and confidence.

• Serve as the complete technical owner for the Beat Stars Mobile practice.
• Actively design, write, review, and ship production mobile code — this is a hands‑on leadership role.
• Define and document mobile engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability across our mobile applications.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to translate PRDs into clear mobile execution plans.
• Help architect scalable mobile systems that support Beat Stars’ global creator marketplace and fan ecosystem.
• Audit existing mobile systems and proactively identify opportunities to reduce tech debt and improve performance.
• Write production‑ready mobile code regularly — this is a hands‑on leadership role.
• Establish processes for enforcing standards through code reviews, CI/CD, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ship mobile features predictably and reliably.
• Serve as a technical mentor to the mobile engineering team.

• 10+ years at a company where you’ve shipped and supported production mobile applications used by tens of thousands of users or more.
• Strong experience building consumer‑facing mobile apps for production environments.
• Deep experience with React Native and/or native mobile development (iOS / Android).
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and platform best practices.
• Experience working on scalable, production‑grade applications.
• Strong architectural instincts and understanding of mobile system design.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, high‑quality mobile code.
• Experience integrating with backend APIs and distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills — able to clearly explain technical decisions to engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Experience collaborating closely with Product teams on feature delivery.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred (Master’s or higher is a plus).
