Position: Staff DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a dedicated Software and Dev Ops Engineer to join our team and have a significant impact in improving the engineering experience at Arm.

Engineering IT supplies the tools and systems needed for the creation of our software and hardware IP. Within this group, the Engineering Platform Services function provides tooling used across the company’s engineering population, as well as focusing on the tooling needs of software engineers.

As a Staff Engineer at Arm you will own technical deliveries, with responsibility from requirements through to planning, implementation, and delivery.

Responsibilities

Working hands‑on with a variety of technologies to provide a first‑class engineering experience for Arm's hardware and software engineers. The domains and areas include:

  • Enable software build and test through CI/CD, build frameworks, large‑scale artifact distributed systems.
  • Develop and maintain core services using cloud‑based environments and large‑scale clustered compute.
  • Exploit virtualization and cloud technologies using Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • AI Platform adoption (MCPs, developer tooling and LLMs).

Our varied activities involve development and operational work. We support and guide the engineering community on how best to utilise the services we offer. Developments range from minor improvements to multi‑month strategic projects. We invest significant time collaborating with other engineering teams at Arm.

Required Skills And Experience
  • Experience designing, provisioning and maintaining Linux‑based infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud services and experience with at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
  • Knowledge of common SDLC tools – Jenkins, Artifactory, Git Lab.
  • Containerisation skills (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
  • Proficiency in interpreted languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby) and compiled languages (e.g., Golang, Rust, C, C++, Java).
  • Experience with AI tooling: MCP, agents, etc.
Nice To Have Skills and Experience
  • Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment with a focus on developer experience and productivity, and the ethos of enabling self‑service access to infrastructure and systems through automation.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Active interest in open‑source software.
  • Experience with microservice software development.

Salary Range: $191,100 – $258,500 per year
