Hardware Software Engineer

I’m working on a genuinely unique software engineering opportunity in Austin for engineers who enjoy working close to hardware.

This role sits within a highly technical team building high-performance systems where software directly interfaces with custom hardware operating in one of the most demanding environments possible.

This is not traditional backend or application development.

You’ll sit at the intersection of software, hardware, infrastructure and embedded systems, helping develop the OS and software stack powering advanced hardware platforms.

• Python-based software controlling and monitoring hardware systems
• Low-level hardware and software integration
• Linux systems and hardware interfaces
• Embedded software for prototype hardware platforms
• Infrastructure automation and production systems support
• Custom hardware operating at serious performance levels
• Device drivers, buses, registers and hardware interfaces
• FPGA / VHDL / Verilog exposure (nice to have)
• Network protocols and hardware systems
