Austin, TX Responsibility as a Mobile Application Engineer

Reporting to the Director of Product Engineering, the Mobile Application Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and basic testing of code written to enhance and maintain one or more of the mobile products of Hot Schedules. The engineer must be self‑motivated, and able to multi‑task based on the current priority of projects in development. Mobile engineers must have good knowledge of appropriate APIs for Android/iOS and know good practices for developing native applications.

Skills and Experience

Develop iOS or Android applications in Objective‑C or Java
Develop REST services in Java Apache CXF
Write unit tests for mobile code and server side Java
Participate in the SCRUM process for development Sprints and Daily Stand‑ups
Debug critical application issues including crashes, memory leaks or concurrency problems
Develop high performance SQL DDL and DML statements
Perform code reviews for other team members
Tomcat
Experience with web services REST, Eclipse, SVN
SQL
Profilers for Android or iOS applications

Experience with the following is a plus

High tech or restaurant industry experience
Agile

Qualifications

Only Austin, TX based candidates will be considered
BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent experience
3+ years developing native mobile applications
Contributed to at least one application that has been a mobile product offering
iOS/Objective‑C or Android/Java experience
Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent problem solving skills.
