Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer, you will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be a rock-solid developer, driven problem solver and have experience supporting large scale data planes. You should be well versed in design and techniques to debug and dive deep on low level systems such as networking architecture, Docker, and Terraform as well as having broad knowledge on distributed systems.
As a Senior engineer the expectation is that you are a team player and leader who is not afraid to step into mentorship and take point on complex design and operational challenges. As the team continues to move forward in the use of agentic AI development it is expected that you will help lead the team as it transitions into the future of software development.
- 5+ years’ experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge and interest in AI adoption including prompt engineering and agentic programming, with ChatGPT and Codex experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of a base language such as Java, with a preference for functional programming language such as Scala.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Experience with tools such as Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Deep knowledge with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and network architectures.
- Ability to design, troubleshoot and maintain networking infrastructure for high throughput use cases.
- Strong understanding of databases, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.
Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.

Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 - $178,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non‑overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.
Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation. - 11 paid holidays
