Senior J2EE Architect - UML-Driven Architecture & Mentorship

Experienced in OO utilizing UML ‑ must have the ability to visually specify and communicate application requirements, architecture and functionality using UML. Detailed design documents at abstract and concrete level will be required from the architect.

Solid experience in XML web service experience, web services orchestration, C# component design and implementation, ASP.Net,

We would like the Architect to be involved in Requirements and Use Case analysis from the very start. The Architect will participate in all phases of the projects, sitting with the development team, lending expertise to aid the client team members on their respective J2EE learning curve.

Candidate must be Senior Level with 10+ years in IT Industry, provide mentorship and guidance in a non-dominating fashion. Excellent written and verbal communication competencies are paramount. Strong experience with application scalability and availability is required.

Strong working knowledge of J2EE technologies:

• JSP
• Servlet
• Struts
• EJB
• Message‑Driven Beans
• JMS

Strong fundamentals in J2EE patterns.

Knowledge of J2EE Security, LDAP, Role‑Based Authorization, Enterprise Integration.

This position will be responsible for building relationships with the Architect Designer, LAN team, DBAs, QA team, and architect team.

Will be responsible for Java development of backend architecture services and framework (i.e., UI, data access, logging, security service, etc.). Responsibilities also include developing and integrating new Java, J2EE, Application Server, XML, and XSLT technologies. Will also research and integrate new technologies.

Must have 6‑7 years of experience in software development within a distributed environment. Should have at least 2 years of JAVA architecture experience. Experience with component modeling and object modeling/data modeling using UML, specifically the Rational Unified Process, is required. Must have experience using EJB, Web Sphere, Servlet/JSP, JNDI, JTA, JCA, JMS, JDBC, JAXP, and J2EE patterns.
