A growing organization is seeking a Lead AI Solutions Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership within small, domain-focused engineering teams building AI-native platforms and intelligent automation solutions. In this environment, AI is embedded across the entire development lifecycle-from requirements generation and code creation to testing, deployment, and system monitoring. Teams of 3-5 engineers own full-stack delivery for their domain and leverage AI-driven automation to deliver solutions at significantly greater speed and scale than traditional development models.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve AI-driven development pipelines that automate key stages of the software lifecycle, including requirements, coding, testing, security scanning, and deployment.
- Architect and deliver AI-native applications and intelligent interfaces that modernize user interaction with complex business systems.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, contributing to coding, architecture, and code reviews while setting engineering standards for the team.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging managed services and serverless architectures.
- Lead the design of secure integrations between internal platforms and external SaaS systems.
- Establish security and compliance guardrails aligned with HIPAA, SOC 2, and insurance regulatory requirements.
- Mentor engineers and guide architectural and technical decision-making within the team.
- Partner with engineering managers and cross-functional teams to support delivery planning, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging AI tools, frameworks, and development practices to enhance engineering productivity and system capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 6-10 years of experience in software engineering, including recent work with AI-enabled development tools or AI-driven delivery practices.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and architectural direction within engineering teams.
- Strong experience designing and delivering cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
- Experience building AI-powered applications, automation workflows, or intelligent interfaces.
- Expertise in API design, integrations, and distributed systems architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops practices, and automated development workflows.
- Knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC
2). - Strong communication and mentorship skills with the ability to guide technical decisions and collaborate with stakeholders.
