We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who will build the next generation of security automation to protect systems and resources across Amazon role focuses on developing agentic AI flows, MCP servers, and agent skills that enable builders to manage security issues directly from their AI environment. This position is fully integrated with AWS and is a greenfield opportunity to shape how AI agents interact with security platforms at a company-wide level.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an autonomous contributor across all software owned by the team.
- Deliver features that impact the end‑customer experience, from the frontend website to backend services.
- Work backwards from our customer to design, implement, test, deploy, operate, and document software.
- Contribute to all parts of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Produce high‑quality results in a fast‑paced environment.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience (non‑internship).
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one modern software language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
