Front End Developer Intern — Summer 2026
Austin, United States | Posted on 05/27/2026
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite at Pandesco Office)
Duration: June 1 – August 14, 2026 (approximately 11 weeks)
Reports To: Director of Technical Delivery & Product Designer Compensation: $23-28/hr
Pandesco is a boutique Managed Service Provider (MSP) and SaaS technology creator headquartered in Austin, Texas, delivering innovative IT and cloud solutions to specialty, luxury retail, and consumer products clients. We build proprietary software and deliver managed services that help our clients modernize, operate efficiently, and grow. We are a small, fast‑moving team where everyone is a builder and every contribution is visible — interns here ship real work on real products, not throwaway projects.
The RoleWe are looking for a Front End Developer Intern to join our growing product team in Austin. You will work alongside our Product Designer, full‑time developers, and fellow engineering interns — contributing to existing products and helping build new ones from the ground up.
Your focus will be turning Figma designs into high‑quality, responsive React + Type Script interfaces — for both desktop and mobile — across our SaaS products. This is a hands‑on role: you will write code that ships, and help shape the processes and component library that influence how the entire product team builds.
Our AI PhilosophyAt Pandesco we believe AI makes smart people more efficient — it does not replace human intelligence, it increases human velocity, and we like velocity. It also makes dumb people dumber, and we don't do dumb. We expect every member of our team — interns included — to bring genuine curiosity about AI‑assisted development, the discipline to use it well, and the judgment to know when to think for themselves.
If you want to learn how strong engineers actually work with AI in a production environment, this is the right room.
Frontend Development
- Work side by side with our Product Designer to translate Figma designs into responsive, functional UI components in React 19 and Type Script — for both desktop and mobile.
- Contribute to new product development from early stages as a member of a collaborative team.
- Improve and refine existing UI implementations to reach strong product solutions.
- Help build out and shape Pandesco's internal component library and design system — a real opportunity to leave your mark on how the team builds.
- Work directly with the Designer on guidelines, patterns, tokens, and reusable components.
- Contribute to data visualization patterns and the conventions around them.
Workflow & Collaboration
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprints via Azure Dev Ops — pull requests, work item tracking, and pipelines.
- Collaborate with both in‑office and remote team members throughout the week.
- Use AI‑assisted development tools (including Claude Code) as part of your daily workflow — under guidance — to increase velocity without sacrificing craft.
Required Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with React and Type Script .
- Solid foundation in HTML and CSS
. - Experience developing UI for both desktop and mobile
. - Experience collaborating with designers in Figma — reading and implementing from design files and implementation guidelines.
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops — pull requests, work item tracking, and pipelines.
- AI‑forward mindset: some exposure to AI‑assisted development tools and a genuine willingness to use them well in day‑to‑day work. Resistance to AI is an explicit non‑fit.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Human‑Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Prior Front End Development internship experience.
- Experience building or contributing to a component library or design system
. - Experience working on data visualizations
. - Working fluency with Claude Code or similar AI‑assisted development tools.
- Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design best practices.
- Personal, freelance, or class projects that show off your UI work — we'd love to see them.
