Engineering Manager, Americas

Role Overview

Engineering Manager working closely with co‑founders, directors and peers to build and scale Ashby’s engineering team.

• Directly manage 3–5 engineers and hire an additional 3–5, building a team with multiple specializations.
• Provide feedback on product and technical specifications to help engineers scope and improve quality.
• Coach engineers to take large, loosely defined projects and deliver them with minimal intervention.
• Debug customer issues, ship bug fixes, and improve the developer experience while staying off the critical path.
• Propose and lead cross‑department and company‑wide initiatives, such as improving pull‑request review processes, designing interview flow, and enhancing data‑generation for demos.
• Own and sustain a culture of ownership, minimal process, and high productivity, helping the team ship end‑to‑end solutions.
• Collaborate with founders, directors and other managers to scale the culture from ~50 to 100+ engineers.
• Conduct 30‑day, 60‑day, 90‑day and 6‑month reviews to calibrate fit and performance.

• Strong engineering background with a passion for coding and continuous learning.
• Proven experience leading and hiring high‑potential engineers.
• Ability to thrive in a low‑process, high‑ownership environment and drive projects independently.
• Expectations for challenging status‑quo processes and driving large‑scale improvements.
• Comfort with influencing cross‑functional teams and making data‑driven decisions.

Compensation Range: $200 K – $275 K
