Software Engineer, Data (L1)

Location:

Austin, TX – Onsite, 4 days per week.

The Enterprise Data team unifies data across the organization using Palantir Foundry, AIP, and Ontology. Your role focuses on building pipelines to onboard raw datasets into our data platform, ensuring quality and best practices throughout the development cycle.

• Leverage established patterns and create new ones to onboard new data sets quickly.
• Develop repeatable, automated data‑management processes for sensitive information.
• Own deliverables and collaborate through design and code reviews.
• Partner with product, engineering, and AI teams to define priorities.

• 2+ years of experience with data warehouses, data lakes, or software engineering focused on data.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Proficient in Scala, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of Data Lake and Delta Lake concepts.
• Understanding of data security best practices.
• Experience with Databricks, Big Query, or Palantir.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, ontology development, and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Fivetran.
• Experience in GCP or Azure environments.
• Dev Ops experience.
• Experience creating standards, documentation, and testing.
• Experience with APIs and data frameworks like Spark and Polars.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline preferred.
• Demonstrated desire for continuing education and improvement.
