Responsibility as a Software Engineer (Java Web Applications) Reporting to the Director of Engineering the Web Application Software Engineer will help develop for Hot Schedules' premiere web-based scheduling, labor management, and forecasting product. Work with Product Management and UX engineers to implement new features per requirements. Develop appropriate unit tests for new feature development and work with QA engineers to define test cases.
Participate in agile Scrum process for work estimation, collaboration, daily standups, and feature demos.
Desired
Skills and Experience:
- Strong Java programming knowledge with a demonstrated ability to write high performance and efficient code.
- Three or more years Java web based / SaaS application product development.
- Three or more years JDBC and SQL development.
- Experience with an MVC framework such as Struts or Spring.
- Solid understand of source control systems such as SVN and concepts such as branching, merging and reverting.
- Knowledge of defect tracking or customer issue tracking systems.
Experience with the following is a plus:
- Amazon EC2
- Node.js
Qualifications:
- Only Austin, TX based candidates will be considered.
- BS/BA or 3 years equivalent experience
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
