Job Description & How to Apply Below
MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR TOP SECURITY CLEARANCE
We're seeking a Digital Power Electronics Firmware Engineer to develop the embedded control software that powers our next-generation autonomous defense systems. In this role, you'll design and implement firmware for advanced power conversion, DC-DC converters, power distribution, and energy management systems, ensuring reliable, high-efficiency performance in demanding, mission‑critical environments. You'll collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to bring innovative power solutions from concept through deployment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Design and develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for advanced digital power electronics, including DC-DC converters, voltage regulation, power distribution, and energy management systems.
- Develop and optimize digital control algorithms to maximize system efficiency, stability, and reliability across a range of operating conditions.
- Utilize simulation and modeling tools such as SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink to design, validate, and optimize control systems before hardware integration.
- Collaborate closely with electrical and systems engineers to bring up new hardware, perform board-level debugging, and validate power electronics under real-world operating conditions.
- Analyze system performance and continuously refine firmware to improve efficiency, thermal performance, transient response, and overall system robustness.
- Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting from prototype through production, ensuring reliable operation in demanding field environments.
- 3+ years of experience developing embedded firmware for power electronics, motor control, or energy management systems.
- Strong understanding of digital power electronics, including DC-DC converters, voltage regulation, power distribution, and power management architectures.
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ with experience developing firmware for microcontrollers such as STM
32, TI C2000, or similar ARM-based platforms. - Experience implementing digital control algorithms, including PID control (with anti-windup), PWM generation, phase-shift control, and other closed-loop control techniques.
- Hands-on experience using simulation and modeling tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, and Simulink to design, validate, and optimize control system.
