Embedded Software Engineer II (P2) – Onsite role in McKinney, Texas. U.S. citizenship required; active Secret security clearance mandatory.
Responsibilities- Develop software components that provide core compute‑platform services, including data transport, scheduling, and processing orchestration.
- Implement and maintain frameworks enabling scalable, high‑throughput, and low‑latency processing pipelines.
- Define and document platform interfaces, APIs, and data flows under guidance from senior engineers.
- Integrate software across Linux‑based compute nodes and heterogeneous processing environments (CPU/GPU/accelerators).
- Manage and configure Linux OS environments and containerized runtime systems (Docker/Podman) to support platform deployment and operation.
- Participate in Agile development activities and CI/CD pipeline operations.
- Assist in performance profiling and optimization of compute workloads.
- Troubleshoot software issues within multi‑process or distributed compute environments.
- Contribute to improvements in platform tools, workflows, and software development practices.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in systems‑level programming (C, C++, or Rust) with Linux environments.
- Experience with real‑time, platform, or low‑level system development concepts.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and/or Dev Sec Ops practices within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
- Strong fundamentals in software engineering and the ability to deepen expertise in platform‑focused and compute‑framework technologies.
- Knowledge of Docker/Podman, container security practices, and Linux OS security mechanisms (SELinux/App Armor).
- Familiarity with CMake, Conan, or Artifactory.
- Experience with NVIDIA GPU drivers, CUDA, or accelerated computing.
- Experience supporting hardware/software integration in lab environments.
- Experience with embedded Linux platforms (, aarch
64) or real‑time kernels (e.g., Red Hawk). - Experience with kernel‑level development, device drivers, or kernel object modules.
- Knowledge of PCIe, UART, SPI/BPI, Ethernet, IP/TCP/UDP, or other I/O interfaces.
- Exposure to MIL‑STD‑1553, Camera Link, or CoaXPress.
- Experience with Yocto, Petalinux, Device Tree, GRUB, or U‑Boot.
- Knowledge of VPX/SOSA hardware architectures, SBCs, or EO/IR sensor systems.
