Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Surveillance Sensor RF Solutions Engineering Team
Raytheon is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Surveillance Sensor Radio Frequency (RF) Solutions Engineering Team in McKinney, TX. The role is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated embedded real‑time software within heterogeneous systems composed of firmware and hardware.
- Work within a cross‑discipline team to define, refine, and improve product concepts, implementation, testability, and guaranteed, measurable quality.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Contribute to proposals, preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Occasionally travel for business purposes, up to 10% of the time.
- Work onsite in McKinney, TX; applicants must be located in the area or willing to relocate.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience developing, testing, and integrating real‑time software applications written in C++ or closely related languages.
- Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other real‑time operating systems.
- Experience developing complex systems involving the integration of hardware, firmware, and software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g., test benches, simulators).
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases.
- Experience with product development utilizing Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops pipeline implementation and use, including static code analysis, automated build, and automated test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with a test‑driven development approach.
- Hands‑on experience with Git for version control and Git Lab or Artifactory for repository management.
- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD (based on experience and qualifications).
