Senior Software Development Engineer, K8s - EKS

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) team you will help us deliver the mission of making AWS the best place to run containers. At Amazon EKS, we are building a core set of functionality that will allow our customers to create and use Kubernetes  will be part of an exceptional team moving the needle towards making containers as the next generation compute platform.

The EKS Cluster Lifecycle team owns the provisioning, patching, and continuous delivery of Kubernetes control planes software across the largest managed Kubernetes fleet with single‑tenant architecture running mission‑critical workloads. We ensure every cluster is created reliably and stays current with upstream Kubernetes releases, internal EKS updates, and security patches without disrupting customer workloads.

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
