What we’re looking for

Experienced Software Development Engineer excited to build innovative live‑streaming technologies.

Ability to multi‑task, adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements.
Skill in creating reliable, maintainable code and finding creative, scalable solutions to difficult problems.
Clear written and oral communication.
Entrepreneurial thinking and a desire to solve complex problems.

What you’ll do

Provide technical leadership and vision to the experiences and services teams.
Ensure best engineering practices, designing software that is responsive, reliable and maintainable.
Architect solutions that scale to hundreds of millions of customers, in collaboration with other Prime Video and Amazon teams.

Key job responsibilities

Define, design and implement multi‑tier distributed services and customer experiences.

Design, implement and test major features.

Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability and development goals.

Collaborate in a fast‑paced environment with multiple teams for full‑stack development (backend and front‑end).

Requirements

3+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years of design or architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on reliability and scaling.
1+ year of experience as a software development engineer or related role.
Experience designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software using C#, C++, Java or Perl.
1+ year of object‑oriented design experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.

Preferred qualifications

3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, build processes, testing and operations.
Experience with Rust programming language.
Experience with at least one additional programming language.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Benefits

Base salary range listed below. Package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and location.
