Silicon CAD CI/CD Automation Engineer - Austin, Texas

This is an on‑site, hybrid position. Remote work is not offered.

The team is part of Ericsson’s Silicon Engineering unit, which develops cutting‑edge ASICs and FPGAs for 5G telecommunications products. The environment offers extensive career growth and deep technical knowledge.

• Architect and scale automated design and verification workflows using modern software engineering practices and CI/CD methodologies.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable automation frameworks, CI/CD infrastructure, and engineering workflows supporting large‑scale ASIC IP and SoC development.
• Integrate source‑control systems, Git workflows, code‑review platforms, and EDA tools into CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to enhance engineering productivity, enable intelligent failure analysis, regression triage, and CI/CD pipeline optimization.
• Build and maintain engineering dashboards, metrics frameworks, and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with IP design, verification, IT, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and scalable development environments.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, drive continuous improvements in system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Identify process gaps and implement automation solutions that improve development velocity, traceability, and silicon quality.
• Evaluate and deploy AI‑assisted solutions for workflow automation, regression analysis, failure triage, and engineering productivity enhancement.

• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Gerrit, and Git workflows.
• Strong background in automation using Python, Shell scripting, and Linux‑based infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of software engineering best practices (version control, code review, automated testing, release management).
• Experience with distributed build systems, regression management, job scheduling, and compute farm utilization.
• Knowledge of ASIC and SoC development flows (RTL, verification, synthesis, implementation) is beneficial.
• Familiarity with EDA tools and environments (simulation, lint, CDC, synthesis, verification, regression) is beneficial.
• Passion for AI‑driven engineering automation and applying AI/ML to improve workflow optimization, failure analysis, and regression management.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience developing and supporting automation infrastructure for semiconductor development environments.
