We are seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to join the Electro-Optical & Infrared (EO/IR) Solutions Engineering Team within RTX’s Advanced Products & Solutions group. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and integrating software for Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, multispectral EO/IR targeting systems, and other advanced air and space systems.
Responsibilities- Support all aspects of the software development life cycle, from concept and requirements through design, development, integration, test, and maintenance.
- Provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
- Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers to design solutions that meet end‑user and operational needs.
- Occasionally travel for business purposes.
- Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Development experience on Linux, VxWorks, or other real‑time operating systems.
- Experience with object‑oriented programming and C++ design paradigms.
- Experience developing, testing, and integrating real‑time C++ software applications.
- Knowledge of C, C#, Java or related languages.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
- Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- U.S. citizenship and a transferable Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance are required.
- Experience working in laboratory environments with physical hardware (test benches, simulators).
- Strong ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and codebases.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum product development.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops , including static code analysis, automated builds, automated testing, CI/CD, and test‑driven development.
- Hands‑on experience with Git for version control and Git Lab for repository management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience developing CUDA applications for GPU acceleration.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance required on day 1.
- Special Access Program clearance may be required.
- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 (USD). Salary is determined by level, responsibilities, experience, education and key skills.
