Backend Engineer III, Falcon NG-SIEM, Global Serverless Platform; Hybrid

About the Role

The role is for an Engineer III on the NG-SIEM Global Serverless Platform team, responsible for building and operating automation for the largest event data store and search system. Goals include scaling to hundreds of petabytes per day while maintaining top-class ingest, search, and detection SLAs and cost structure. The team manages the regional control plane, account provisioning and integrates with the rest of the Falcon platform.

• Work in a team of friendly, trustworthy and knowledgeable colleagues
• Work on cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects
• Participate in scoping, designing and developing new features and lead delivery of solutions to open-ended problems
• Contribute to moving the scalability of our Log Scale engine to the next level
• Develop the control plane in Go and extend its capabilities to support the platform’s growth while ensuring high availability
• Communicate technical decisions through design documents, technical talks and improve internal documentation
• Provide technical advice on decisions and research & propose new technologies
• Collaborate with the team on delivery of new solutions and support teammates through code reviews, pairing, documentation, design reviews and technical guidance
• Monitor and follow-up on features released in production
• Troubleshoot critical production issues

• A passion for or personal interest in distributed systems and curiosity about how our running systems operate
• Experience in software development and ability to juggle pragmatic trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term product goals
• Experience contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services
• Fluency in both functional and object-oriented programming and ability to pick up new languages quickly
• Can-do attitude, teamwork, and a willingness to take on responsibilities

• Experience programming in Go
• Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with Kafka
• Hands-on experience in large-scale distributed system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization
• Exposure to or experience with log management or cybersecurity products
