Senior Rust Developer
A Senior Rust Architect/Technical Lead who has successfully led Java and C/C++ modernization initiatives to Rust and can mentor internal teams while driving architecture and implementation. Skillset:
Scope of Work:
Vendor resource will serve as a technical lead and support key modernization initiatives across our Edge applications:
- Rust Technical Leadership - Java to Rust Migration
- Lead the design and execution of Java-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications, including:
- Secure Connect Gateway Policy Manager
- Data Center back-end services.
- Rust Technical Leadership - C/C++ to Rust Migration
- Lead the design and execution of C/C++-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications, including:
- SSC (Secure Service Credentials) Capability
- Building / Knowledge Transfer
- Train and mentor Dell senior SMEs on advanced Rust concepts and best practices
- Enable internal SMEs to assume the Rust Technical Lead role by the end of the engagement
Experience:
5-7 Years of Software Development Experience (With 2+ Years of Hands-on Rust Development)

Job Summary:
UST is seeking a highly skilled Senior Rust Developer to support strategic technology initiatives for a leading global technology client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems programming, backend application development, cloud-native architectures, and performance optimization using Rust. The role involves designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions supporting enterprise platforms, cloud infrastructure, edge computing, platform engineering, automation, and next-generation technology initiatives.
The candidate will work closely with architects, product owners, Dev Ops teams, and global engineering teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Rust.
- Build highly scalable, low-latency, and resilient services for cloud and distributed environments.
- Develop microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven applications.
- Implement concurrent and asynchronous solutions using Rust best practices.
- Optimize application performance, memory efficiency, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with architects and product teams to define technical solutions and system designs.
- Integrate applications with cloud platforms, databases, messaging systems, and enterprise platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and sprint planning activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Ensure security, observability, scalability, and compliance requirements are met.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
