Senior Java Software Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated senior Java software engineer to join a high performing Scrum team to roll out new digital solution for customers. The candidate must be a skilled professional who has high availability software development experience with a desire to work on an Agile, dynamic and flat organizational structure.

• Design and develop the business logic and backend systems of the product
• Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, performing and complete APIs
• Decipher existing companies' software systems and be able to hook in application to applicable data sources
• Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks
• Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code
• Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
• Collaborate with product managers and other tech leads to ensure applications meet functional requirements and strategic objectives
• Perform code reviews to guarantee quality and promote a culture of technical excellence in Java development
• Lead and partake in system changes, ensuring project delivery is efficient and meets quality standards, directly involving oneself in coding and problem-solving

Responsible for the quality of the code repository where applicable.

Deliver outputs that make a significant contribution to the organization's strategic goals.

Responsible in the preparation of production outputs and their planning in alignment to ESDLC standards.

Mentoring and training the squad on technical skills.

Mitigate delivery risks and issues, and ensure quality, affordability, and scope of delivery.

Ensure all artefacts and assurance deliverables are as per the required standards and policies.

Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate / MyBatis, RESTful API, Problem Resolving, Container – Open Shift, Docker, Kubernetes, DB2 / Oracle / PostgreSQL, Messaging – Queue, Topic, Dev Ops / ADO,

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, with preference given to advanced degrees. Minimum experience of 7 years in Java application development. Proficient in RESTful API, SOAP, JDK, Spring Boot 3.x, K8S, JUnit. Should have knowledge on Relational (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and/or No-SQL Databases and ability to write basic SQL queries. Preferred to have knowledge on API Gateways, API security, SSL, OAuth 2, etc.

Develop and maintain messaging services using JMS/Solace/Kafaka. Should be independently able to manage CICD tasks using Git, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Maven, Ansible, and Helm Charts. Experienced in Container Infrastructure such as Docker, Linux, Kubernetes, OCP or AWS EKS or Azure AKS. Implement microservices architecture to ensure scalability and maintainability. Have a high enthusiasm for programming and new technology learning, have a strong learning ability.

Fluent English speaking/listening/reading/writing. Mandarin or Cantonese language ability will be an advantage.
