Engineering Manager
We seek a hands-on manager to lead and deliver firmware - driver solutions for an Austin client. You will have strong full-lifecycle embedded systems - firmware - driver success. Manage, grow, and lead a team of five sharp and capable engineers. Proven track record of clear communication, and disciplined execution. A passion for building teams, systems, and practices that improve quality, predictability, and business alignment.
Work with stakeholders and brings value to a sharp and independent team.
What will get our attention: MS/BS with 4+ years proven success managing an embedded systems - firmware - driver team. 10+ years technical breadth and depth in bare-metal, RTOS, Linux, Android, Zephyr. Breadth and depth coding credentials to get the respect of the team. Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, capacity, execution risks, and resource assignments across multiple programs. Experience driving quality, planning discipline, and continuous improvement across software teams.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to align engineering teams, program managers, marketing, field teams, and customer-facing stakeholders.
Highly desirable:
An interest in AI tools to speed up driver development. Open-source software compliance, security practices, and software quality systems. Automated unit, integration, or system-level testing for embedded software. Developing dashboards, release checklists, planning views, or other mechanisms for improving execution visibility. Microcontroller, GPU, CPU networking at bare metal. Windows driver or application development, or PC software integration workflows. Experience with audio, haptics, DSP-based systems, codecs, amplifiers, or related mixed-signal products across smartphone, wearable, gaming, automotive, PC, or consumer electronics platforms.
Worksite:
Austin, Texas (hybrid). Comprehensive relation package. Compensation:
Base salary $180,000 - $210,000. Lucrative bonus plans and RSUs on top of base. Current USA H-1B visa holders and those TN eligible are encouraged to apply.
