Description

Do you have a passion for building robust automated tests? If so, we invite you to join the Apple Pay Quality Engineering team, responsible for ensuring the highest quality of Apple Pay products that surprise and delight millions of customers. As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and seamlessness of Apple Pay, a service that is constantly evolving with cutting edge features.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong technical and debugging skills, and a drive to make a difference. To be successful in this role, you should be a seasoned developer with strong programming fundamentals. This includes designing, documenting, and building automated tests at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Creating and maintaining automated UI test cases and reporting test results
  • Working onsite to test new software on Apple's unreleased handheld devices
  • Contributing to the design and development of testing tools
  • Prioritizing, scheduling, and communicating the status of your work
  • Diving deep to resolve highly technical issues in complex systems
  • Triaging automation failures and driving them to quick resolution
  • Working with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements and maintaining test development roadmaps
  • Communicating clearly and concisely with ability to tailor communication to a given audience
  • Strong organizational skills enabling both independent and team work
  • Leveraging AI to streamline and optimize your work
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing methodology, and testing tools
  • Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate defects, and providing relevant data for test reporting
  • Able to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action
  • Experience developing and maintaining automation systems that scale
  • Experience testing applications built for mobile devices
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience validating microservices (unit, component, contract, integration tests, etc)
  • Passionate about clean code and OO design patterns
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of operating systems and networks
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools
  • Experience with contract testing tools (Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, or similar)
  • Experience with canary and blue-green deploys
  • Experience with service virtualization (Wire Mock, Mountebank, Hoverfly, or similar)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS a bonus
  • Proficient in Java and Kotlin
  • Proficient in understanding code to look into client side of the automation stack - Swift preferred
  • Experience managing the build & release process for iOS/MacOS projects is a bonus
  • Enthusiastic about Apple
  • Team player, able to disagree and find paths forward
  • Passionate about the customer experience
  • Able to cut through ambiguity and deliver results on time
