Role Overview

In modern mainframe development, developers use frontend libraries like React to build user-friendly web applications that pull, modify, or process data stored on an IBM z/OS operating system. This role focuses on connecting these front-end applications to mainframe assets through established API gateways.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop user-friendly web applications using frontend libraries like React.
• Process and modify data stored on an IBM z/OS operating system.
• Utilize IBM z/OS Connect as an API gateway to transform mainframe assets (like CICS, IMS, or Db2 programs) into standard RESTful APIs.
• Make standard fetch or axios calls from the React frontend to API endpoints without needing to understand mainframe-specific languages.
