Purpose

Texas Athletic Performance, Baseball/Softball seeks a qualified and growth‑mindset part‑time Office Assistant for the 2025‑2026 academic year. The role is designed for applicants pursuing a career in baseball and/or softball Strength & Conditioning, focusing on bridging training theory to practice, assisting in the weight room and on‑field conditioning sessions, and learning the intricacies of collegiate coaching including training design. Interns will report to the Associate Head Coach, Athletic Performance.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of full‑time Athletic Performance Staff, develop knowledge and skills to design, implement and evaluate training programs for student‑athletes and improve the ability to teach safe techniques.
  • Work in close collaboration with full‑time Athletic Performance Coaches of both baseball and softball.
  • Utilize, interpret and collect data from various technologies (Vald, Elite Form, Smart abase and Catapult).
  • Support Athletic Performance Staff with daily operations of the training facilities and aid with maintenance and organization of training facilities and equipment, including practice set‑up and breakdown.
  • Learn to communicate effectively with student‑athletes, medical personnel, health and wellness staff, and sports coaches.
  • Identify and prepare for daily routines, both individual and group settings for the weight room and on‑field.
  • Integrate with on‑field staff to improve players’ movement patterns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Consistently exemplify the core values and quality standards of Texas Athletics. Always act ethically; proactively seek guidance when unsure of applicable law, rule or policy. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System, the University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing bodies.

    Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violations of state or federal laws, policies, rules or regulations. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others during an investigation. If witness or receive information about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking that involves a current student or employee, you have a duty to promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

    Reports may be made by phone, email or online. An employee who does not report an incident or who makes a false report is subject to termination and may be charged with a criminal offense (Class A or Class B misdemeanor). Required Qualifications
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) certified.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Completion or enrollment in an exercise science undergraduate/graduate program.
Salary Range
  • $20 per hour
