MTM Transit, in partnership with
** Capital Metro**, is looking for a
** Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic
** to join our team in North Austin.
The
** Fleet Maintenance (C ) Technician
** will perform scheduled and unscheduled vehicle maintenance repairs and service to satisfy compliance with vehicle warranties and assist with maintaining Company or Client fleet as required. The
** Fleet Maintenance (C ) Technician
** will also be responsible for assisting with facility clean- up and organization, and for communicating the status of repairs and parts needed in a computerized Maintenance management system using the 3 “C” s.

** What you'll do:
*** Responsible for maintenance, service, basic diagnostics, & repair of MTM Transit and Capitol Metro Owned vehicles
* Areas of repair to include but not limited to automotive vehicle, light duty truck, powertrains, undercarriage/ chassis, electronic and electrical equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, and vehicle accessories and equipment drivability and diagnosis of wheelchair lifts
* Perform on the road repairs (Road Calls) as needed
* Ensure all data is collected in the computerized maintenance management system collecting the complaints, causes, corrective actions and all labor and parts used
* Ensure appropriate communication of repairs and parts
* Perform additional duties as assigned or required
** What you'll need:
***** Experience, Education &
Certifications:
**** High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
* Automotive courses from automotive institute preferred
* 2+ years automotive mechanical experience preferred
* Must possess a valid driver’s license
* Must be 21 years of age or older
* Must possess a continuously valid US driver’s license for 3 years
* Must possess a valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
* No DUI or DWI convictions
* No more than 1 suspension, moving violation, or citation within the last 3 years – no more than 2 within past 5 years
* Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
* Experience using hand and power tools, machinery, sophisticated test and diagnostic equipment related to automotive repair
* Must have proper required small hand, pneumatic or electric tools. MTM provides major tooling, specialty tooling, diagnostic tooling and equipment

* Skills:
**** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Advanced skills in computer diagnostics and repairs to ensure electronic repair work orders are completed correctly
* Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behavior related to such
* Ability to attend safety and vehicle repair course as may be required
* Ability to work flexible hours as required
* Willing to follow all company policies, procedures, and regulations
