Ensure a large-scale training fleet remains mission-ready by executing routine inspections and rapid-response repairs. This role is vital to the operation’s success, directly impacting aircraft availability and ensuring student pilots have safe, reliable equipment for their daily flight rotations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections on trainer aircraft in strict accordance with FAA mandates.
- Interpret and utilize technical resources such as wiring schematics, IPCs, maintenance manuals, and Airworthiness Directives.
- Maintain meticulous records of all service actions to ensure immediate and compliant return-to-service.
- Uphold rigorous standards for hangar cleanliness and workplace safety.
- Coordinate closely with flight instructors and operations staff regarding maintenance timelines and fleet status.
- Adapt to shifting priorities to minimize disruptions to the active flight schedule.
- Provide flexible coverage across day or night shifts as operational demands require.
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Ability to secure Inspection Authorization (IA) within 90 days of joining.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in general aviation maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Physical capacity to lift 50 lbs and perform labor involving kneeling, bending, and standing.
- Ability to work comfortably around aviation fuel, loud environments, and varying weather conditions.
- Strong technical background with Piper aircraft.
- Familiarity with Garmin G1000 integrated flight decks.
- Expert knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91.
- Confident decision-maker regarding airworthiness and diagnostic troubleshooting.
- Effective communicator capable of collaborating with diverse internal teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking software like Talon RMS.
- Highly detail-oriented regarding regulatory documentation and paperwork.
- Proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, educational aviation environment.
