Role Overview
The Hot Shot Driver delivers batteries to dealers when requested and assists with warehouse operations and Route Managers.
Responsibilities (Job Components)- Run Hot Shots and assigned routes on a timely basis as needed.
- Load and unload batteries.
- Perform general warehousing duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers.
- Deliver batteries to customers on a timely and safe manner.
- Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies.
- Ensure batteries are charged, cleaned, dated, and rewrapped after rotation.
- Accurately complete reports and claims.
- Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members, managers and customers.
- Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements as specified by the manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read, write, and do basic math.
- Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
- Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools is required (tablets, scanners).
- Must have a clean driver’s record and meet driver qualifications requirements.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or forklift.
Works under general supervision and guidance. Accountable for general warehouse duties and backup driving responsibilities, in addition to occasional front‑counter customer service. Operate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude.
Work EnvironmentRegularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk. Repetitive lifting. Consistent sitting, standing and walking. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle.
Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
