Driver III will operate a commercial truck/trailer, tractor trailer, or combination vehicle (a vehicle that weighs over 26,000 lbs.) that requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A to pick‑up and deliver parcels. AIT/Spur Drivers are responsible for safely and accurately delivering and picking up cargo, keeping accurate driving logs (ELD), and inspecting and maintaining the company trucks.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the truck to and from specified destinations safely and follow all state, local laws, and DOT regulations.
  • Focus on safety and compliance, including real‑time reporting of any accidents or incidents encountered on the road, monitoring road conditions, and following all applicable traffic laws.
  • Handle general fleet maintenance, including appropriate fueling, cleaning the truck, washing windows, performing a full inspection before and after each trip, and proactively reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Prepare receipt for load picked up or bill of lading.
  • Maintain driver hours of service using electronic logs and ensure rest periods according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT and other applicable regulations, including state or federal regulations.
  • Provide timely communication with supervisor/manager regarding the status of the daily route, including completion of stops, lunch or other breaks, and prior to clocking out.
  • Ensure timeliness of client delivery by proactively anticipating any delivery challenges and ensuring timely departure.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies. Ensure time, date, verification, and signature on all freight paperwork.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and secure cargo with proper equipment such as load bars, e‑track, and straps during transit.
  • Load and unload the truck when not driving, if necessary.
  • Operate a forklift or pallet jack when not driving, if required.
  • Perform duties for both short‑haul and long‑haul deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety policies.
Experience

3+ years of commercial driving experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Reading and writing in English; knowledge of airport codes, destinations, and basic geography (medium proficiency).
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills (medium proficiency).
  • Active participation in safety policies, activities, and implementations (medium proficiency).
  • Maintain a current medical card (high proficiency).
  • Have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) (high proficiency).
  • Pass Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). exam and road test (high proficiency).
  • Complete cargo screening if driving in CA (high proficiency).
  • Limit of three (3) moving violations in the past 36 months (or two (2) within the past 12 months) including seatbelt and cell‑phone violations (high proficiency).
  • No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injury treated away from the scene, or disabling vehicle damage within the past three years (high proficiency).
  • No conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs within the past seven (7) years (high proficiency).
  • No positive drug or alcohol results in the last 7 years reported to the Clearinghouse (high proficiency).
  • General computer skills (medium proficiency).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A – required.
  • TSA‑certified truck driver and obtain a STA number upon employment – required.

Compensation and Benefits

In addition to base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (dependent on position). Benefits include medical, prescription, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, supplemental health, employee support program, paid parental leave, pet insurance, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement. Vacation ranges from 10 to 20 days depending on tenure, with two personal days, five sick days, five volunteer hours, and six company holidays (plus Veterans Day for Veterans) annually.
