Spec's Wines, Spirits, and Finer Foods is looking for 18-Wheeler drivers for our Wholesale Distribution to deliver goods to our Specs stores in Texas.
The individuals who perform this job are experienced drivers that can function as part of a team as well as effectively function independently. This position requires the safe and timely delivery of assigned loads to final destinations.
The ideal candidate will be customer focused and understand the needs of the Specs retail stores to which they will deliver.
Retail trucking experience is a plus.
Local and OTR routes scheduled weekly.
Our drivers are required to load/unload trailers and breakdown merchandise upon delivery. Must be familiar with and compliant to all DOT requirements for intrastate driving.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job regularly requires standing, walking, or bending; use of hands and fingers to handle or feel; reaching with hands and arms;
climbing or balance; talking and hearing. You must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with proper tools. You must be able to use a industrial machine to move pallets up to 2400 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be 21 or older per state law.
The positions are Full Time
- Permanent Employees of Spec's.The standard work schedule is 6 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday (or until route is complete) but does vary and can change according to workload and operational needs. Depending on the route, drivers will sometimes stay overnight.
Valid Class A Drivers License is required. Clearinghouse query is required. Other pre-hire qualifications, such as a road test, are administered. We are enrolled in a DOT Randoms consortium.
