Position OverviewWe are seeking experienced Autonomous Vehicle Drivers / Test Operators to support a nationwide mapping and data collection program. This role requires individuals who are comfortable working in a highly structured, safety-focused environment while operating advanced vehicle technologies and supporting data collection activities.
This is a 100% travel role from day one
. Candidates must be comfortable traveling extensively, adapting to changing project locations, and working varying shifts based on operational needs.
- Operate vehicles on designated routes to support mapping and data collection initiatives
- Monitor vehicle systems and maintain situational awareness throughout operations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure vehicle readiness
- Collect and document operational data, observations, and route-related findings
- Follow established testing procedures, operational guidelines, and safety protocols
- Support troubleshooting efforts by accurately reporting vehicle or system issues
- Utilize Linux-based tools and systems as part of daily operations
- Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to support project objectives
- Travel frequently and support deployments across multiple cities and regions
- Minimum 1 year of Autonomous Vehicle Operator, Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator, Safety Driver, or similar AV experience
- Minimum 1 year of drive-based data collection experience
- Linux experience is required
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recall and document critical information accurately
- Comfortable working with technology, vehicle systems, and structured operational processes
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, locations, and project requirements
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Experience with autonomous vehicle testing, validation, or safety operations
- Experience working with engineering or QA teams
- Familiarity with data logging, vehicle diagnostics, or operational reporting tools
- Military, aviation, robotics, or other safety-critical operations experience
- Base Pay: $28.86/hour
- Evening Shift Pay: $32.36/hour (when assigned to or working evening shift hours)
- $75/day per diem for each working day
- Weather pay when vehicles are unable to operate
100% travel expenses covered, including flights, hotels, and transportation - Paid training program in Santa Clara, CA
- Long-term contract opportunity with strong extension potential
Typical shift schedules include:
- 1st Shift: Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: Approximately 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM
Shift assignments will vary based on project needs, location, and deployment requirements.
Flexibility is required.
