Role Overview
Route Service Manager delivers batteries and provides exceptional customer service to a predetermined route of customers and dealers within their territory. Handles scheduling, inventory, and dealer relationships while ensuring quality and safety on every delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver batteries and provide service to each dealer on the route in a safe and timely manner.
- Load and unload trucks safely, maintaining accurate records of all company assets.
- Establish, build, and maintain dealer relationships.
- Keep displays and product clean, full, and rotated per consignment agreements.
- Manage dealer accounts: sales, consignment, warranties, rotates, cash collection, and invoicing.
- Complete delivery/route transactions and related paperwork promptly.
- Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
- Interact professionally with all stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers.
- Follow driver program requirements as specified by the manager.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- High school graduate (or equivalent).
- Ability to read, write, and compute basic math.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Minimum one year of delivery and customer service experience.
- Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems.
- Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools (tablets, scanners).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sense of urgency in completing work.
- Willingness to work overtime if requested; depending on location may require one or more overnight routes per week.
- Clean driver’s record and meet driver qualifications (CDL required).
- Valid DOT medical card.
Works independently with limited supervision.
Accountable for accurate inventory management of company assets.
Uses frequent independent judgment when making decisions.
Operates with integrity and demonstrates a positive attitude.
Work Environment- Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, including moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects.
- Must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Repetitive lifting, consistent sitting, standing, and walking.
- May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Exposure to hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle.
