Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Rochester-Austin, Minnesota area. This role oversees day-to-day transportation operations, including scheduling and dispatching vehicles, coordinating driver assignments, and monitoring route efficiency and on-time performance. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with drivers, mechanics, and customer service teams to ensure safety standards, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service. Responsibilities include managing operational workflows, resolving service issues, optimizing fleet utilization, and supporting continuous improvement in processes and communication.

The role also involves maintaining accurate operational records, assisting with staffing and training, and contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation or logistics operations, including scheduling, dispatch, and route planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience supervising teams and promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with drivers, staff, and customers.
  • Familiarity with fleet management, DOT regulations, and basic mechanical or vehicle maintenance concepts is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with common office software and operational systems; experience with transportation management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in the Rochester-Austin, Minnesota area and adapt to occasional schedule changes based on operational needs.
  • Relevant education or training in business, operations management, transportation, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
