- Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure
- Load and unload cargo on and off aircraft
- Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs, to transport cargo between the terminal, warehouse, and aircraft
- Perform ground service functions, including connecting/removing ground power and ground start units and water service
- Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking, and related guide man functions
- Maintain a secure work environment
- Support the timely delivery of cargo, luggage, and business-to-customer shipments while contributing to on-time flights
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo up to 50 lbs or more
- Valid driver's license maintained throughout employment
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to join the Transport Workers Union and pay union dues under the collective bargaining agreement
- Ability to lift, push, and pull cargo up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and remain on feet for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions, noisy environments, and confined spaces
- Clear vision and hearing
- Manual dexterity for handling documents, operating computers, and using two-way radios
- Preferred:
Previous aviation or ground handling experience - Preferred:
Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout - Preferred:
Knowledge of airport safety regulations and protocols - Preferred:
Experience operating tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts - Preferred:
Basic computer skills and scheduling systems experience
Demonstrates strong operational capabilities in aircraft marshalling, cargo handling, and ground support equipment operation while adhering to safety protocols and airport regulations. Possesses effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews in a dynamic environment.
