Job Description & How to Apply Below

Fully local, woman-owned junk removal company in Austin, and we do this work differently. Most of what we haul never sees a landfill. We route material to Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, St. Vincent de Paul, Austin Pets Alive, Austin Resource Recovery, and our own resale store. We divert hundreds of tons a year and give back over 1% of revenue and labor to local causes.

We've been recognized by Keep Texas Beautiful, the Texas Environmental Leadership Awards, and Best of ATX. If you want a hauling job where the work actually means something, this is it.

The Role

The Fleet Operator runs our day-to-day field operation while still driving and hauling alongside the crews. You are the person who knows where every truck is, whether jobs are on schedule, whether the paperwork got done right, and whether the trucks will start tomorrow morning.

This is a hands-on leadership job. You lead by example, hold people accountable, and solve problems without waiting for someone to tell you how.

What You'll Do

Run the field day

  • Perform full Driver/Hauler duties: driving, hauling, loading, sorting, recycling, donation drop-offs, landfill runs, customer communication, and jobsite cleanup
  • Track where every crew is and whether they're running on time
  • Reassign or re-route jobs when a team falls behind or has open capacity
  • Serve as the first call for field crews when something goes sideways
  • Coordinate with the office on timing, staffing, and customer expectations
Quality control
  • Verify jobs are fully completed before they close: photos, notes, cubic footage, receipts, checklists
  • Follow up immediately when documentation is missing
  • Check for missed items, incorrect disposal, poor cleanup, and other quality issues
  • Coach drivers and haulers when standards slip, and help train new hires
Profitability
  • Complete the Master Profitability Report accurately and on time
  • Review job revenue, labor time, drive time, disposal costs, and fuel for accuracy
  • Spot patterns that hurt margin: excessive drive time, unnecessary landfill trips, bad routing, slow loading
  • Flag unusual costs and operational problems to management
Fleet management
  • Maintain the maintenance schedule and log for all trucks and trailers
  • Schedule oil changes, inspections, tire service, repairs, and registrations proactively, before a truck goes down
  • Make sure pre-trip and post-trip inspections get done, and follow reported problems through to repair
  • Monitor tires, lights, brakes, fluids, hitches, straps, and safety equipment
  • Keep trucks stocked with straps, tools, PPE, bags, and supplies
Yard and hauler office
  • Keep the hauler office, yard, and storage areas clean, organized, and usable
  • Track supply inventory and flag shortages before crews run out
  • Make sure trucks and trailers end the day emptied, secured, and ready for tomorrow
What We're Looking For
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (no major accidents or DUIs)
  • Able to safely operate box trucks and trailers
  • Able to do the physical work of a driver/hauler, every day
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Comfortable with mobile apps, spreadsheets, and scheduling software
  • Willing to hold teammates accountable while keeping the environment respectful
  • Previous leadership, logistics, transportation, moving, junk removal, or field-operations experience preferred
  • Mechanical or fleet-maintenance knowledge is a plus, not a requirement
What Success Looks Like

The field operation moves without management having to step in. Crews know where they're going. Jobs get done right. Documentation gets submitted. Trucks get maintained before they break. Supplies are there when crews need them. Problems get caught early and solved fast.
