Being a driver for Guardian Fleet Services means stepping into one of the most visible and influential roles in the company. Our drivers are more than operators behind the wheel—they are the face of the organization, the first point of contact for customers in moments of stress, and the standard‑bearers of our professionalism and values.

Job Summary:

This Dedicated CDL‑A Driver role involves delivering and picking up light rental equipment (no oversized loads) using a tractor‑trailer throughout the Austin, TX area and surrounding communities. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Drivers report on and off duty directly at the customer’s yard and receive daily dispatch from the customer’s team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate haul trucks to transport our customers’ equipment safely
• Load, secure, and unload machinery, industrial components, and other specialized cargo using chains, binders, straps, and blocking
• Conduct thorough pre‑trip, in‑route, and post‑trip inspections of truck, trailer, and securement equipment
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, escort vehicles, customers, and job‑site personnel
• Ensure compliance with DOT, state, and local regulations, including weight limits, height/width restrictions, and securement standards
• Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, permits, and load documentation
• Identify and report mechanical issues; perform minor troubleshooting when necessary
• Maintain a clean, organized truck and uphold company safety policies

• Valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment hauling (forklifts, scissor lifts, etc..), specialized transport, or lowboy operations
• Proficiency with advanced load securement techniques and rigging equipment

• Ability to read and interpret permits, route plans, and height/width restrictions
• Strong understanding of weight distribution, axle configurations, and trailer types
• Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checks
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills

• Lift, pull, push, and carry 75–100 lbs. regularly (chains, binders, blocking, ramps)

• Climb onto trailers, equipment, and loads up to 6–8 feet high
• Perform repetitive bending, kneeling, climbing, and crouching during securement tasks
• Stand, walk, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods
