Travel Percentage None Category Inventory ## Description Overview / Summary An Inventory Specialist manages a company's stock to ensure accurate records, sufficient supply, and efficient distribution. This professional plays a critical role in the supply chain by tracking inventory movement, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining an organized this role, you will support a fast-paced manufacturing plant environment producing multiple product lines within the audio-visual (AV) industry, including the assembly of projectors, screens, and window shades.
Working within our Net Suite ERP environment and supported by RF (radio-frequency) scanning technology, you will ensure that materials, components, and finished goods are accurately tracked from receipt through production and final shipment. The Inventory Specialist is essential to keeping production lines supplied, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting on-time order fulfillment across all product lines.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Tracking and Control
• Track stock levels:
Monitor and document inventory levels using a warehouse management system (WMS) or other inventory software, including the company's Net Suite ERP platform and RF scanners.
• Handle inbound and outbound shipments:
Receive and inspect incoming goods, verify against purchase orders, and process outgoing orders for shipment.
• Conduct counts:
Perform regular inventory cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with system records.
• Resolve discrepancies:
Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including missing items, overages, and incorrect counts, and update inventory systems accordingly.
Warehouse & Stockroom Operations
• Organize storage:
Ensure the stockroom or warehouse is organized, clean, and optimized for space, ensuring products are labeled and easily accessible.
• Operate equipment:
Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move and store goods.
• Manage returns and damages:
Process damaged goods and product returns from customers or from the warehouse.
• Prepare shipments:
Accurately pick items for orders, securely package them, and prepare all necessary shipping documentation.
Communication & Reporting
• Collaborate with teams:
Work closely with other departments such as purchasing, production, and warehouse staff to manage inventory flows and forecast needs.
• Generate reports:
Prepare and provide inventory reports to management, including stock levels, adjustments, and findings from cycle counts.
• Notify of issues:
Communicate any inventory problems, such as potential stockouts or discrepancies, to store or warehouse management.
Quality & Process Improvement
• Ensure compliance:
Adhere to all safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
• Prevent loss:
Implement procedures to mitigate shrinkage from theft, damage, and inaccurate records.
• Suggest improvements:
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management.## Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in a similar inventory, warehouse, or manufacturing role using ERP systems and warehouse scanning systems.
• Demonstrated experience in inventory control within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of cycle counting, physical inventory audits, and discrepancy resolution.
• Proficiency with material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred; see
Preferred Qualifications ).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including purchasing, production, and warehouse staff.
• Reliability and commitment to a consistent, fully on-site work schedule.
