• Position:
Regular, Full Time, Non‑Exempt.
The Warehouse Specialist II reports to the Warehouse Supervisor within Supply Services and works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is responsible for performing logistical, inventory, and general warehouse operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Inspect incoming shipments; receive, process, and store inventory.
- Pull and prepare orders, and deliver goods to state facilities.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform accurate data entry into MIMS and CAPPS systems.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and trucks equipped with lift gates.
- Review system‑generated picking tickets for logical bin picking and plan delivery dates.
- Load and unload warehouse stock using lifting equipment, dock plates, and dock levelers.
- Inspect, count, and verify compliance or damage; maintain shipping documents.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, ensuring security procedures and visitor escorting.
- Participate in Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan activations as required.
- Knowledge of warehousing methods, inventory control record‑keeping, automated inventory‑control systems, reporting procedures, and departmental policies.
- Ability to use mechanical lifting devices for moving, transferring, and delivering goods.
- Ability to follow warehouse rules, regulations, and policies for compliance.
- Proficiency with handheld devices, inventory control and receiving software, and standard computer use.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License (Texas preferred), checked yearly for violations or suspensions.
- Forklift Fundamentals (FRK 0100) completion within 3 months of employment.
