Material Lead

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we are looking to add a Materials Lead located in Austin, TX. The Materials Lead reports to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for leading the work of others and participating in activities related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.

Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision.

• Coordinate the activities of subordinates.
• Review difficult or complex work procedures to resolve questions presented by workers.
• Ensure accurate, up‑to‑date records of inventory in stockroom and daily operations; complete necessary forms or paperwork for documentation.
• Design stockroom layout and oversee rearranging process.
• Oversee and participate in counting, weighing, and measuring incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
• Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify; fill out appropriate forms or documents.
• Fill orders and issue materials and supplies per requests; document transactions, prepare requisitions and compute costs; keep records of storeroom inventory.
• Oversee and participate in ordering or purchasing a variety of stock items, recommend changes to standard items or stock levels and order items using independent judgment within established limits.
• Determine method of shipment based on knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates; package, weigh and mark container for shipment; prepare necessary forms such as bills of lading.

• Minimum of 3 years of material experience.
• Strong clerical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

• Warehouse skills: forklift, electronic scales, pallet jack, measuring tools, and alignment tools.
