As a Warehouse Forklift Operator, you will be primarily responsible for safely operating Crown extended-reach trucks to move, store, and retrieve inventory throughout our Ferguson warehouse. This includes placing and retrieving pallets from rack locations approximately 32 feet high and working within double-deep and quad-deep racking systems.
Although forklift operation is the primary responsibility, this is not a forklift-only position. Successful team members are willing to support all warehouse operations as business needs require, including picking, shipping, loading and unloading containers and trailers, manually handling products, cleaning, organizing, and completing other warehouse-related tasks. We are looking for an experienced operator who values safety, accuracy, reliability, flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
WhatYou'll Bring
- Minimum of two years of recent reach-truck operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Recent experience operating Crown extended-reach trucks and safely placing and retrieving pallets from rack locations approximately 32 feet high.
- Experience operating within double-deep and quad-deep racking systems.
- Strong commitment to safety, accuracy, dependable attendance, teamwork, and proper equipment operation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, remain on your feet throughout an eight-hour shift, and perform general warehouse duties as needed, including picking, shipping, unloading containers, product handling, cleaning, and organizing.
- Current forklift certification.
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts and cherry pickers.
- Experience using RF scanners or warehouse inventory systems.
- Experience working in a high-volume distribution or manufacturing warehouse.
- Experience loading and unloading trailers and shipping containers.
- Safely operate Crown extended-reach trucks to transport, store, and retrieve inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Safely place and retrieve pallets from rack locations approximately 32 feet high within double-deep and quad-deep racking systems.
- Load and unload trailers and shipping containers while maintaining product accuracy and minimizing damage.
- Move and stage pallets between receiving, storage, picking, and shipping locations.
- Replenish warehouse inventory to support daily picking and shipping operations.
- Pick, stage, and prepare products for shipment based on operational needs.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and promptly report equipment or safety concerns.
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe pallet locations, aisles, equipment, and work areas.
- Perform manual product handling, cleaning, organizing, and any other warehouse-related duties assigned by leadership.
- Assist warehouse leadership in maintaining an efficient flow of inventory throughout the facility.
