Our team in Austin, TX is at the heart of sample isolation and viral testing reagents and workflows. The role of a Material Handler II will be responsible to provide receiving, storage, order fulfillment and information management for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility accordingly.
- Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment according to established procedures and customer requirements, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Receive materials and/or finished goods daily, verifying the quality, type, and quantity of materials received and ensuring appropriate documentation is present (e.g., packing list).
- Operate PC applications and systems, including Microsoft Excel, E-1, and SAP.
- Update and maintain the SAP system.
- Coordinate all related activities with the distribution team with minimum supervision.
- Ensure that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/management.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-2 years of related experience.
- A preferred background includes experience with SAP spanning two to three years.
- Experience in Receiving spanning approximately one to two years.
- Ability to operate powered industrial trucks in addition to equipment located at various heights.
- Intermediate digital literacy to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software to support daily operations.
- Prepared to work within a warehouse environment exposed to different temperatures, including room temperature (59–86 degrees
F), cold-room (36-46 degrees
F), and freezer-room (minus 4 – 23 degrees
F).
- Experience functioning in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage through complex processes/projects.
- SAP knowledge is highly preferred.
- Good written/verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail is a must.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequently encouraged to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to speak and hear in an environment with background noise.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.
