Position: (OH) Shift Lead

Overview

Job Title - Shift Lead

The Shift Lead is a key resource and part of a small management team responsible for daily site operations and to ensure employee and member satisfaction, enforcing company standards, and achieving desired financial results. This position reports to the general manager and requires work to be performed in person at the assigned location.

We are a drug-free company. Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. (Must be minimum of 16 years of age)

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of the site.
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Maintain unit, grounds, and car wash.
  • Must have an open availability and work 40-45 hours per week.
  • Must be proficient in all opening and closing tasks.
  • Update checklist, inventory, and reports as needed.
  • Communicate good news, bad news, breakdowns, etc. with the general manager and assistant manager.
  • Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to all team members.
  • Enforce cleaning and hourly inspections to be enforced by management.
  • Car wash management.
  • Enforce completion of checklists.
  • Perform and enforce hourly inspection and follow-up on issues.
  • Drive for Top Level KPI’s within the franchise community.
  • Be an Ambassador for our Unlimited Club.
  • Hold site to Franchise Standard of Operations Guide.
  • Oversee wash cleaning and bring attention to any required maintenance, enforcing completion of the Wash Cleaning List.
  • Ensure every team member is using proper dialog.
  • Team Member Relations:
    Managing a team and developing relationships, following checklists, providing team accountability.
  • Protects member confidentiality according to HIPAA and related state and federal laws.
  • Any additional tasks that pertain to benefiting the company and taking care of the guests.
Training Responsibilities
  • Train new team members and franchisees on all team member positions utilizing Tommy’s U training tools and systems and verifying completion of all assigned training.
  • Ensure team members and franchisees are knowledgeable on situational awareness and safety procedures.
  • Develop Future Leaders Assistant Site Leader and franchisee’s on the following items:
    • How to run a shift.
    • How to make a schedule.
    • How to handle a warranty request report.
    • How to handle issues with team members and complete proper documentation.
    • How to complete and manage the hourly position board.
Essential Physical Functions

This job operates in a professional retail environment. Car wash operating hours are Monday through Sunday from 7:00am - 9:00pm. This role routinely operates in all areas of the car wash facility, including both indoor and outdoor work. The job works 5 to 7 days per week on site and works 45-50 hours per week.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency.
  • Able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery, etc.
  • Able to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing), detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information.
  • Able to move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Able to work and commute in all weather conditions.
  • Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers.
  • Continual standing, moving, and walking for several consecutive hours during shift, which comprises 80% of daily duties. Remain stationary for approximately 20% of daily duties.
  • Available to be on-call for emergencies.
  • Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 2-6 months team member experience.
  • Proven experience in a successful customer service role.
  • Exceptional verbal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and multitasking skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED;
    Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test.
  • Successful completion of Tommy’s University training program.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including point of sale system and Google Workplace applications such as Google Office and email.
